Proforça returns this autumn with “Flashbang”, written by James Lewis and Directed by David Brady.

Ryan (Sam Kacher), Jason (Emmanuel Olusanya), Andy (Henry Brackenridge), Deano (Fred Wardale) and Mickey are best friends, a “gang”, and they think they will be friends forever.

They live in a small town following the same life cycle. Working, drinking at the pub, living for the weekend, and then repeating it all over again. Until, one night, the unthinkable happens. And they will never be the same again.

Flashbang combines plenty of humour and moving, believable moments – thanks also to the enthusiastic young cast. The gang may find their town boring and uninspiring, and their parents stuck in the same habits and predictable routines, but they have each other, and their friendship is beautifully characterised. Their bond will help them survive when, one night, everything changes.

Very few theatre companies bring the real alive on stage. Proforça is one of them. They are able to dramatise ordinary life using ordinary people, creating brave, vivid theatre.

It runs until 17 September.
